I finally let you go
out the door
the window of my heart
I didn't even notice it
when it was happening
only when I thought of you
at a stoplight yesterday
and realized you had been gone so long
the sunlight shot at me
people walked by
music screamed from the radio
a child with a blue balloon in my peripheral vision
I swear all the people are just walking around
and they never feel this way
I should clean up my heart
I should sweep more often
it's messy there
it's a beautiful
unkempt
place
