state of enchantment

i tried to write you the strongest spell on the back of a business card and casually hand it to you when we met for coffee the other day and you just took it and said thanks and put it inside of your jacket pocket and never read it aloud like i had hoped and then you left and the wind was whipping around the buildings and i saw your back disappear into the sex of the city and i raised my hands and realized i was no sorcerer

i couldn't make you turn around
