A poem a day for a year #223

by Amy Turn Sharp

I dared myself to stop drinking and being wild
but I quickly took it back
spit three times at the evil eye of boredom
and walked right into a crowd of people
I have a job to do
spread love around the room
make people hold hands
find the sad and help them fly
secretly interview folks to be characters in my stories
dance dance dance
I was born this way
I was born A Scorpio Saggitarius cusp
I am scared of myself
